Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage learn through a play-based curriculum. At Long Lee Primary, we carefully plan experiences and activities to support children's learning, based upon their interests and fascinations. Continuous Provision, indoors and out, enables children to explore and be active learners. Focus activities are planned in a fun and playful way to engage children in more directed learning.  We aim to provide children with 'real life' experiences to prepare them to become life-long learners.

The revised EYFS framework has been implemented in September 2021. The framework and the new educational programmes set out the areas of learning and development we follow throughout Nursery and Reception. The EYFS framework also details the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) children are expected to achieve at the end of Reception (age 5).
