Year 3 Yew

Class Teacher: Mr Hird

Classroom Support: Mrs Foster and Mrs Haughey

Last half term we have been working hard in English recently as we have written our own Adventure Stories based on the story 'The Tunnel' and we have been adding and subtracting up to 3 digit numbers in Maths. The children have made some Andy Goldsworthy style artwork in World Wide Learning.

We are really looking forward to our trip to Magna in December, we will be visiting 4 pavilions in the centre; these are earth, fire, air and water. We will then taking part in a Volcanoes workshop. Please arrive at school for 8:15 AM so we can get ready to go on the coaches, we will return at 4:00 PM. Please remember to bring a raincoat and a packed lunch and drinks. Magna is also very cold so you may want to bring some warm clothes with you also!

This half term we are going to be writing stories from different points of view and read the book 'Voices in the Park' and we will be finishing adding and subtracting up to 3 digit numbers and then move on to multiplication and division in Maths. We will be learning all about Volcanoes before our exciting trip to Magna on the 12th December!

On Thursdays we are going to be taking part in fantastic Football lessons in P.E with a coach from the F.A.

You can find the homework activities below. In the homework books there are some activities already printed out to help with the different activities. Please remember that you can hand in your homework on a Thursday!

In Year 3 we have P.E on a Tuesday and Thursday so please make sure that your child has the correct kit in school.

These are the common exception words for our current year group. Please be aware that some children may be working on a different set of spellings as that is more appropriate.
